Specifications of an unannounced Realme model RMX2117 was spotted by a tipster on China’s regulatory body TENAA. The tipster(@stufflistings) tweeted the available details on TENAA.
It looks like the unannounced Realme model will come with a 6.5-inch display and pack a 4,900mAh battery. Apart from these specifications, the listing indicated that the phone will support 5G. The phone dimensions were also stated: 162.2 x 75.1 x 9.1(mm). With the limited information, it is hard to infer which new model this could be.
Realme has been busy releasing phones during the lockdown period with the Realme Narzo 20 series releasing on September 21. However, we haven’t got a clue as to what this new mystery model could be.
Interestingly there have been speculations of a new series and a Weibo post made by Xu Qi Chase, the President of Global Marketing and Vice President at Realme, further added fuel to the speculations. His post dropped a clue on the arrival of a brand new Realme smartphone series which will come with the next generation 5nm chipset.
Qualcomm has stated that it will bring out the 5nm process chip in 2021. Therefore, it is also likely that Realme’s new series may launch next year. Snapdragon 875 is supposedly based on the 5nm chip.
Even though Chase didn’t suggest anything explicitly the new Realme series could be the first one to use the Snapdragon 875 SoC. The next-generation Snapdragon chipset is tipped to bring in high-quality performance improvements and also an integrated 5G modem.
