Xiaomi Redmi 8A has been launched in India. The new Redmi smartphone is under Xiaomi’s entry-level Redmi A series, which is claimed to be “India’s favorite series.” The new phone is a successor of highly successful Redmi 7A.
Xiaomi’s Redmi 8A flaunts three different color variants and offers fast charging support, besides a massive 5,000mAh battery. The smartphone also features FM radio to attract young customers, moreover, the Redmi 8A is a strong competitor against the Realme C2 and Samsung Galaxy M10.
In terms of its optics, the Xiaomi Redmi 8A has a 12 MP Sony IMX363 sensor camera at the rear along with an f/1.8 lens and LED flashlight. The smartphone also has an 8 MP selfie snapper with some preloaded features such as the AI Portrait Mode and AI Scene Detection. The phone also has an AI Face Unlock feature.
Specifications, the phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC with 19:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone comes with up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable.
The handset also includes a 6.22-inch HD+ display. On the inside, it includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 6,499 for the 2GB RAM + 32GB storage variant whereas the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage option comes at Rs 6,999. The handset will be available via Mi Home stores starting September 30.
