Xiaomi is all set to launch a new smartphone in India on August 27, 2020. The new smartphone is called Redmi 9 in India, but globally the smartphone is known as Redmi 9C.
Although Xiaomi has not revealed much info about the launch and the specs of the smartphone, since it is the Indian version of the Redmi 9C, we can safely assume that the specs of Redmi 9C would remain intact for the Redmi 9 in India.
Redmi 9 features a 6.53-inch HD+ Dot Drop display, that comes with an aspect ratio of 20:9 with 400 nit brightness. The display offers a video quality of 720x 1600 HD+ and a contrast ratio of 1500: 1. It runs on 12 nm process technology that offers a refresh rate of up to 2.3GHz, and supplies 4x A53, Octa-core CPU.
As for storage, the smartphone will be offered in two memory variants – 2GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage, and 3GB of RAM with 64 GB of internal storage. The Redmi 9 will come equipped with a 5000mAh battery and will come with a Micro USB charging port, and a built-in chargeable battery. The company claims that the battery will support 10W fast charging.
The back of the smartphone features an AI Triple Camera set up that consists of a 13MP primary camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor, and the back cameras will offer Face recognition. As for the selfie camera, it is of 5MP with f/2.2 aperture. One remarkable thing about the selfie camera is that it comes with a palm shutter, that is the palm could trigger a timer. Furthermore, it offers a micro-USB charging port and a 3.5mm headphone port.
As for security, the smartphone comes with an AI Face Unlock, and the rear end of the smartphone houses a fingerprint sensor. The smartphone is available in three colors – Sunrise Orange, Midnight Grey, and Twilight Blue.
