Earlier this year in July, Xiaomi launched the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro, the K20 series smartphones in India. However, one feature was missing, and Xiaomi has finally addressed this issue. You can now play HD videos in Amazon Prime Video on your Redmi K20 series, Redmi K20 and K20 Pro.
The company made the pair even better by pushing the highly anticipated Android 10 update. But even then, the devices still lacked one major issue to deal with – the one most anticipated by the users, lack of Amazon Prime HD streaming.
But now it seems like Xiaomi is living up to its promise as a recent post on the Mi Community forums suggests that the HD video support is now live. If you’re a Redmi K20/K20 Pro user, you’ll need to update your device’s Amazon Prime Video app to gain the new functionality. The post states that you’ll also need to configure the content streaming settings to the highest quality.
It’s worth noting that only Amazon Prime HD streaming is affected in this case whereas Netflix HD streaming is fine. On the brighter side, Mi India support has confirmed that a software update will soon be pushed to enable Redmi K20 Pro to Amazon Prime HD streaming.
