Redmi Note 5 in India is going to receive a new OTA (over-the-air programming) update MIUI V9.2.13. This update is not based on Android Oreo, rather is a new software version of MIUI, the theme-based interface by Xiaomi.
It has been confirmed that this is a stable version and even runs on top of Android Nougat. It is not a major OS upgrade, although it is bringing improved system stability and performance for the Note 5 users in the country.
There are still a few more days to go before all users in India get the notification for an update. In case you don’t want to wait, the manual update through the Settings menu is possible. However, a stable Wi-Fi connection and a healthy battery in your phone are required, as the update is of the ‘massive’ 1.5GB.
Stay with us for the next update from Xiaomi as it surfaces.
