Today at a press conference at the headquarters of Xiaomi Beijing, Xiaomi announced the new Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro series smartphones.
The Redmi Note 8 features a 6.3-inch screen with a waterdrop notch on the top bezel and with the Redmi brandmark on the bottom bezel. Redmi Note 8 is 90% screen, and the display is of 1080 Pixels. The smartphone is equipped with the fifth-generation gorilla glass, which is used on both the front and rear sides of the smartphone.
The backside of the phone houses a fingerprint scanner which reduces the space taken up by the scanner by 30% compared to previous Redmi smartphones with a fingerprint scanner. The smartphone runs on the Snapdragon 665 and comes with a 4000mAh battery with an 18W fast charge capability.
The newbie features a 48 MP camera, and four lenses which are arranged vertically one after the other on the backside of the smartphone. The four lenses are divided into ultra-clear, super wide-angle, depth of field and super macro. The super wide-angle lens supports intelligent distortion correction and has the maximum viewing range of 120 degrees. On the other hand, the super macro lens supports 2 cm focus Depth of Field. As for the front-facing selfie camera is of 13 MP and supports AI beauty and panoramic selfies.
Redmi Note 8 comes with the high-power 0810 earpiece, the first of its line. The external frequency of the earphones is increased by 60% and the loudness of it is increased by 40%. The bottom of the smartphone uses the 1217 super linear speakers which also uses BASS material. The music experience in this smartphone has been amped up, thanks to the 0.933cc large sound cavity design used for its speakers. It uses a 3.5 mm headphone jack and infrared sensors.
Redmi Note 8 Pro is a slightly better version of the Note 8 not only in terms of its pricing, as reported by Xiaomi. The Redmi Note 8 Pro features a 6.53-inch display screen with a 3D four-curved glass body. It looks almost bezel-less but features a 4.2 mm ultra-narrow bezel. The Pro version is available in Fritillaria white, ice jade, electric light gray color, and is priced at 3000 yuan.
