Xiaomi announced the rollout plan of its MIUI 11 updates at the Redmi Note 8 Pro launch event on October 16, 2019. Since then, the company has rolled out the update for smartphones like Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro, Mi Mix 2 and 24 other smartphones. Now, Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 11 based update for the much popular Redmi Note 8 Pro.
Once the update is available for your handset, you will receive a notification regarding the same. Tapping on the notification will allow you to download and install it. One can also manually check for updates by heading over to Settings > About Phone > System Update and tap on Check for Updates.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro will also get features like dynamic sounds and Mi Share. The Mi File Manager app will now have native support for opening documents. The Game Turbo and Mi Notes apps are also now updated. Besides the new features, the new update also fixes a few bugs. While not the latest, the November security patch is also included in the update.
It is, however, unfortunate to see that the Redmi Note 8 Pro MIUI 11 update is yet not available to all users as some faces issues with the new update. “I have not yet received the new MIUI 11 on Mi 9 bought at three,” says one of the users.
However, the company says you should get a notification shortly as it is rolling out the update in batches.
