On November 26, 2021, a digital blogger revealed that Redmi is gearing up to launch a new smartphone that will be powered by the Snapdragon 870 SoC. The blogger also revealed that the smartphone is likely to feature s straight screen.
A few days ago, there were rumors that the Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is developing two smartphones powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. One of the smartphones will be branded under the Xiaomi title, and the other one is likely to be a Redmi-branded smartphone.
The blogger further mentioned that the upcoming smartphone might feature a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is likely to be powered by a 5000mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging and 33W fast wireless charging support.
The blogger also shared the 3C listing for a Xiaomi smartphone that carries the model number 2112123AC. The listing suggests that the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone will be one of the 5G flagships, and it will support 67W fast charging. However, the listing fails to mention if this smartphone will be branded as Xiaomi or Redmi. It goes on without saying that the exact name and dimensions of the Redmi smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 870 SoC are not yet known.
The Redmi brand general manager Lu Weibing also revealed that the company is developing the Redmi K50 series of smartphones. The smartphones from this series will essentially be gaming smartphones. The smartphone may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 900, and the smartphone might be powered by a massive 5000mAh battery.
Moreover, the smartphone is speculated to feature an under-screen fingerprint sensor, and its front design might be a punch-hole one. The device is expected to feature a 64MP main shooter on its back. The Redmi K50 series is expected to debut in early 2022. The Dimensity 900 chipset is breaking all test benchmarks according to experts.
