Xiaomi is on a roll today. At the Beijing Conference today, Xiaomi unveiled four new devices for its sub-brand Redmi: the Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi TV and RedmiBook 14.
The Redmi TV features a 70-inch screen with ultra-thin bezels. Redmi TV is 4K HDR with Dolby Atoms audio and DTS HD. At the conference talking about the TV, the officials said, “It is designed with 70-inch 4K ultra-high-definition screen, and its display area is more than 60 percent larger than the mainstream 55-inch.” Indeed, the TV has a sleek design with a huge screen. As a part of their smart TV lineup, the Redmi TV supports Wi-Fi dual-band connectivity.
Xiaomi had mentioned before that the Redmi TV could be connected to other Xiaomi Smart devices, and true to their promise, it can be connected to the Xiaomi devices using the USB ports that is housed on the TV, as well as through an IoT control page on the TV. Redmi TV also features the PathWall which will store all the contents. The 2GB RAM with 16GB storage variant of the Redmi TV is priced at Rs 38,000.
Coming to the RedmiBook 14, it is powered by the 10th generation Intel Core processors. According to Xiaomi, RedmiBook 14 is going to be an upgraded version of the previous model, RedmiBook 12 which runs on the 8th Gen Intel processor. It means that the RedmiBook 14 will have a 13 percent performance upgrade over the existing versions.
The RedmiBook 14 sports a 14 inch IPS LCD display with Full HD panel. As the new device is likely to be the slightly better version of the previous model, it is only natural that the price for the new RedmiBook 14 would skyrocket too.
The latest model is priced at around Rs. 40,000. The standard RedmiBook 14 features MX250 discrete graphics with i5 processor, 8GB memory, and 256 SSD. The second model of the same laptop has similar specifications but with 512G SSD, and it is priced at Rs. 45,000. As for the last model, it runs on i7 and features 8G+512G SSD and is priced at Rs. 50,000.
The RedmiBook 14 weighs only 1.5 kilos and comes pre-installed with Windows 10 Home and Microsoft Office.
Unfortunately, both of these gadgets have not released in India yet and it is not clear whether it will ever be available in India. We should also keep in mind that India is Xiaomi’s one of the largest markets which makes India a crucial part of its revenue. Keeping this in mind, it is hoped that Xiaomi may soon release the RedmiBook 14 and the Redmi TV in India.
