Sony is planning to launch a new line of Xperia smartphones, the project codenamed Kugo has just been certified by the Federal Communications Commission in the US. A report first spotted by Motog3 shows that two mysterious Sony smartphones listed as PY7-29752M and PY7-93041M might be part of the flagship Xperia Series.
The new certification proves that Sony might launch more high-end devices in the coming years. We’re not sure about the devices’ design and specification yet and will surely get more info in the coming days.
Xperia is one of the most popular series by the Japanese mobile manufacturer. Another recent leak in a benchmarking site spotted some specifications of Sony Xperia XR with the code number (F8331). The rumored device is probably to have a 5.3-inch Full HD display and a 23-megapixel rear-facing camera running on a Snapdragon 820 processor. If the listings are to be taken into account, it might have 3GB RAM, alongside a fingerprint sensor.
Sony is also teasing a new smartphone for IFA Germany, which will continue from 2 – 7 September 2016. Though we are not sure about the details, we can guess that the company is all set to launch a number of devices at the upcoming event as per its press invitation.
