S K Telecom has claimed to achieve the gigantic task of launching the first live TV broadcasting system by taking the commercial network 5G and giving the solution for live broadcasting.
The Korean telecom company had shown the new year’s event, which included the countdown and other ceremonies projecting the most significant development in the telecom industry. It had shown the live telecast in Bosingak for eleven minutes, where the large bell pavilion is located, which marks the first live advent of any entertainment channel, XtvN sharp at 00.00 KST on January 1, 2019.
It utilized the 5G network for broadcasting the live telecast, which was monetarily supported on December 1, 2018, and T Live Caster found the broadcasting solution, which had been developed throughout four years.
The T Live Caster ensures the broadcasting of the videos, which are even taken by smartphones on various channels with the help of the 5 G and the LTE network. This feature is not used in media technology now, which captures real-life events and situations by providing exclusive video of situations, including sports games. This can highly be recommended for providing safety measures for the citizens by providing better surveillance.
The video that was taken in the Bosingak event was captured by smartphones which were further connected to the 5 G mobile routers after installing it with the T Live Caster app, which again got transmitted through the 5 G base stations, including the XtvN’s transmission to reach the cable operating devices and the viewers of XtvN. The video is expected to be transported in less than a second, overcoming the congested data environment, which is a remarkable achievement.
The 5G live broadcasting system can display enormous brilliance and innovation for the media industry. The company will further try to enhance the quality of the videos of the T Live Caster to the UHD by interconnecting the solution to personal broadcasting platforms.
With the availability of 5G, it will also ensure its reach to the drone broadcasting technology. They have already partnered with the drone manufacturer DJI to provide better drone video surveillance solutions.
According to Choi Nak-hoon, the Senior Vice President and the Head of 5GX lot / Data Group of SK Telecom, this achievement has ushered in a new era of the 5-G-based media services, which will enable and provide high-quality live broadcasting anytime, which is a huge stepping stone for the media industry.
