Taking place in the heart of Silicon Valley, Samsung hosted the Galaxy Tech Forums on the 23rd of January, 2025. The panel was set to provide an in-depth exploration of Samsung’s innovations in Artificial Intelligence. They addressed many of the challenges they faced and described them into four major areas: Sustainability, Health AI, Galaxy AI, and Home AI.
A better mobile AI
Kicking off the session was Jay Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office, Mobile Experience Business at Samsung Electronics. In his words,” Yesterday was a very exciting day for us as we launched the Galaxy S25. It’s another big step forward in the AI era. We’re very excited to be here with our partners today, especially to talk about everything we did together to launch the Galaxy S25 series.”
The key highlights from the Galaxy Tech Forum as they were discussed were:
AI for sustainability.
With the opening session titled “How Mobile Technology Can Accelerate a Sustainable Future”, Samsung doubled down on its commitment to have sustainability as a primary focus. To achieve this, their flagship Galaxy S25 series has been integrated with 50% recycled cobalt, making it the first in Galaxy history to manufacture batteries with recycled material derived from old smartphones. They also stated that over 150 tonnes of discarded fishing nets have been repurposed into devices since 2022.
Samsung also collaborated with Seatrees, a nonprofit that dedicates itself to marine conservation. The new Ocean Mode feature now optimizes underwater photography, enabling high-quality 3D mapping of coral reefs, primarily for restoration efforts
Galaxy AI
Smausmg is shaping its Galaxy AI tech to be a smarter and more intuitive mobile experience. They aim to enhance productivity and creativity primarily, integrating seamless integrations across devices for both personal and professional applications. Updates focusing on these factors are expected to roll on during the 2025 lifetime.
Health AI
Going into how advanced algorithms can empower users to take control of their health, Samsung discussed its Health AI. With real-time health monitoring, enhanced biometric sensors can now, far more accurately, gauge health data. This, along with predictive analysis, can allow the system to detect potential health risks earlier than ever before.
Home AI
With accessibility and eco-friendliness as a core, Samsung’s Home AI is designed to improve smart living. Be it energy-efficient appliances or AI-powered home automation, Samsung’s solutions will continue to redefine modern households.
Jay Kim also spoke on Samsung’s commitment to openly collaborating with its partners to bring forward progress, expressing his excitement for all the possibilities it could entail. Multimodal AI capabilities also took to the stage, as key drivers such as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite showcased tech that simultaneously processes multiple forms of data, such as voice, text, and images.
As a conclusion, the panelists agreed that mobile AI innovations are set to revolutionize every aspect of life. They also vowed to develop technologies in a responsible manner that would be beneficial to all of humanity. With the rise of modern technologies such as these, AI now takes charge of even the most basic of tasks. Such innovations are made to further improve our quality of life. With the industry evolving, our very futures will certainly be paved by the AI discussed in the present.
