South Korean mobile giant Samsung has announced the launch of the Galaxy A9 in China during its Galaxy A Party 2016 event. Last week there were a lot of speculations and a number of leaks in the major publications revealing the specifications of the device. The Galaxy A9 is considered the most high-end smartphone in the Galaxy A lineup from Samsung. The device will be available in China later this month, with pricing will be confirmed at a later date.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 comes with a giant 6.00-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels full HD and with 2.5D curved glass, which adds to the pleasure of watching videos and playing games. The device is just 7.4 mm thin and looks very elegant with a golden-colored metallic body. Users will also get geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, and HDR features with the phone.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 runs on Android v5.1.1 (Lollipop) and is upgradable to Android v6.0 (Marshmallow) OS. The device weighs 200gm and has dimensions measuring 161.7 x 80.9 x 7.4 mm. A 4000mAh non-removable li-ion battery powers Galaxy A9, which provides excellent talk time and standby time.
Like earlier devices Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 by Samsung, the A9 will have a fingerprint sensor embedded into the physical home button added with Samsung Pay. The smartphone is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor and comes with 3GB RAM. The phone packs 32GB of internal storage and a micro SD card support of up to 128GB capacity. The cameras are concerned – the Samsung Galaxy A9 packs a 13-megapixel autofocus, an LED flash primary camera on the rear, and an 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIMs and has ample connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 802.11, GPRS, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, FM, 3G, 4G, and USB port. The Samsung Galaxy A9 is available in Pearl White, Midnight Black, and Champagne Gold colors.
