The Bixby Marketplace is the gateway that connects end users with third-party developers. At the Bixby Marketplace, developers must go through a shipping process. If they wish, they can also choose private shipments so that they can perform tests on the device before their Capsules are activated. The Capsule will be available for download by Bixby users only after it has been approved on the public channel.

When it comes to Bixby Capsules, it offers third-party developers new possibilities to incorporate their APIs into the Bixby experience. They have been available to developers at Bixby Developer Studio since 2018 and the company expects developers to have worked on improving the concept to create new skills for the platform. For now, the Bixby Developer Center has been updated with all the necessary information for external developers to send their capsules. The latest update for Bixby brings the market to users in the United States.

As with Alexa and Google Home, it will be possible to create skills to improve the assistant’s features, and they will all be downloadable via the Bixby Marketplace. By the way, instead of being called “skill” they will be called Bixby Capsules.

According to Samsung, the goal of the store is to bring together and facilitate access to the different functionalities of Bixby. “You can now find these new services through a simple search, or browsing the individual Marketplace categories,” the company records. According to the manufacturer, space is already being made available and we just have to update Bixby to have access to it.

In order to have these features, users must first update Bixby from the Samsung Store as this market is available for the 2.0 version of the voice assistant. Once this is done, the marketplace will be available and from there you can check the services and apps supported by Bixby.

Although it has been a good 8 months since Samsung started the beta of this project, at the time of the launch there are very few resources in it. It is expected that the progressive expansion of the store could be an overhaul for the coming months.
