Today is a big day for Samsung as the company’s self-developed Exynos 2200 processor released its first run on Geekbench. The listing on the Geekbench website shows that the device that participated in the test is Samsung’s smartphone carrying the model number SM-S906B which is the Samsung Galaxy S22+ smartphone.

After the test, the data shows that the Samsung Galaxy S22+ equipped with Exynos 2200 processor has a single-core score of 1073 and a multi-core score of 3389. The reports also reveal that the Samsung Exynos 2200 process comes with 8 cores including a 2.59Ghz super core, three 2.5GHz large cores, and four 1.73GHz small cores.

A Chinese blogger further commented on the processor. As per the blogger, Samsung’s self-developed processor features the latest X2 super core which can also be found in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 processor. Moreover, the GPU of the processor has been identified as AMD.

The Geekbench console also reveals the details of the chipset. The Exynos 2200 features a Cortex X2 core which is clocked at 2.59 GHz. Moreover, the X2 core is joined by three Cortex-A78 cores which are clocked at 2.5 GHz; moreover, four Cortex-A55 cores are clocked at 1.73 GHz.

As per a few foreign media, the Exynos 2200 is supposed to be a class-leading GPU. Although the GPU benchmarks look promising, the processor did receive low benchmark scores and clock speeds. Some people think that this could be either because Samsung is trying its hardest to achieve sustained performance and efficiency at the cost of peak performance, or this could have also happened because the device was benchmarked while it was in power-saving mode. The listed Governor, “ with the handle-name energy_aware” thinks that the low score was due to the device being on power-saving mode. The Exynos 2200 chipset will debut on the Galaxy S22 series.
