The company has done it again. It seems that Samsung; to reach high in this competitive market has been using fake photos to show off capabilities of Galaxy A8 Star’s camera. And this is not the first time as earlier this year Samsung has used some stock images to showcase the Galaxy A8’s rear cameras’ image capturing potentiality.
The news is revealed by the website DIY Photography where the author, Dunja Djudjic herself has been the victim of such a stunt. She cites that it was a huge surprise for her to find that Samsung had actually taken one of her photo which was shot a f/2.0 DSLR camera to fake the camera’s portrait mode.
The person also claims that the background of the actual image has been changed with a park image in the background to showcase their camera’s blur effect. She further claims the image has been heavily edited including the eyes and altered the skin tones as well.
When asked Samsung about its recent stunt all that it replied back was some generic messages teaching her how to use Samsung smartphones. Well, this is not a new thing that the companies use. Fake DSLR images to show off their camera capabilities thus false advertising to lure more users was often done in the past. Hence the company has proven that it can go any limit to stand out in this competitive market.
