Samsung is in a place where they could announce its first foldable smartphone on November 7th. The upcoming smartphone speculated, Galaxy F. Samsung is reportedly in talks with YouTube and Netflix about how the new foldable smartphone can deliver the best service to its users. Samsung’s upcoming developer conference is on November 7th. So it is speculated that Samsung is likely to announce the foldable screen phone on that day. Back in 2013, Samsung had released a video showcasing the possibility of a smartphone whose display could be folded. This video piqued everyone’s curiosity and speculations have started then regarding the announcement of the smartphone. In July, the speculations were again in the air as many reports said that Samsung was about to launch a smartphone that could fold “like a wallet”.
There are only speculations about the foldable smartphone right now. The foldable screen phone is supposed to be a tablet of its own that can be folded and used as a phone. They are calling it the tablet mode and the smartphone mode respectively. It will have a Super AMOLED display and the Galaxy F would feature a 7.29-inch primary display in its entirety which can be folded into a 4.58-inch smart-phone mode and which could be used as a normal phone.
For a tablet screen to be able to fold into a smaller screen, it needs to be unbreakable. To ensure that the screen does not break after folding it to be used as a phone, Samsung reportedly could source the hinge used for folding from KH Vatec. The tablet mode is comparatively thinner than the smartphone mode as the mode will be having the additional thickness of the tablet screen. The details of the new folding smartphone are yet to be released.
Specifications and software features are yet to be known. Even though Samsung has been able to create a hype around it, it is not the first company to release a smartphone like this. Royole, a Chinese startup launched a smart-phone called FlexPai which features a similar foldable display.
