It has been just some weeks that Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 has started selling in Kenya and the Korean company has already started suggesting with new updates. This time another update has been flashed by Geekbench revealing that Galaxy A5 2017 is running on Android 9 Pie OS hinting that it will be testing the Android 9 Pie update internally.
It’s worth noting that December 2018 security patches are already available for a handful of Samsung devices, we could easily see the current version arrive towards the end of this month or maybe in 2019, which is typical for non-flagship Samsung phones.
The company has been facing backlash on its online Samsung Community site where people are expressing their frustration on Samsung for releasing the Galaxy A5 (2017) with outdated Marshmallow OS while other phones like Nokia 6, Honor 8 Lite, OnePlus 3T, etc. have been issued with Android 7.0 Nougat. People who are backing the petition feel that the Galaxy A5 (2017) should be treated with Android 9 Pie OS update.
It is be noted that these updates will only implement improvements, not bringing a new version of the system, in addition to improving security; it is expected to correct potential problems and news related to “Dual Messenger,” an application that allows you to use more than one account in some compatible applications.
Since the South Korean company has already launched the last major update for the Galaxy A5 (2017), the smartphone is unlikely to receive Android 9 Pie update even if it has been spotted on Geekbench with the new Android software.
