Samsung first launched the Galaxy A5 nearly two years ago, running on the Android 4.4 KitKat version. Here is the good news – the South Korean technology company has started rolling out Android 6.0.1 for the first-generation Samsung Galaxy A5 users.

Samsung has included the updated TouchWiz with improved designs, which have been appreciated by users for lower RAM usage, and ease of use. It contains the latest security patches from Google. The update file comes with build number A500FUXXU1CPG2.

Samsung Galaxy A5 users will benefit from a slew of Marshmallow features such as Google Now on Tap, the Doze Mode that optimizes battery life, give new and improved app permissions, DND mode, improved boot security, support for additional dialects, silent mode for profile and more.

The new update for the Galaxy A5 has been made available in select regions of Europe and Africa.

To fetch the update manually, head over to Settings>> About device>> Software update>> Update now.

Alternatively, use the firmware download link available on Sammobile to perform a manual update using the Odin flashing tool.

We believe the company will show the same interest in the 2016-based A5 and other series devices by releasing Android 7.0 Nougat in the future.
