In recent times there have been strong rumors about a Galaxy smartphone that is being developed with a four-fold camera. It would be the Samsung Galaxy A9. Today the Samsung SM-A9200 surfaced on the Geekbench, so more details are known about this new smartphone model.
Samsung SM-A9200 becomes Galaxy A9
The Samsung SM-A9200, or the Galaxy A9, runs on the Android 8.0.0 operating system and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. As already suspected, the device will be equipped with 6 GB of RAM memory.
The benchmark score shows a single-core of 1609 and a multi-core score of 5844. The performance matches other smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 660. This SoC performs significantly better than the Exynos 7885 processor from Samsung itself, which another is used for the Galaxy A7 2018. For comparison, this device with model number SM-A750F achieved a single-core score of 1526 at the end of July 2018, and a multi-core score of 4265.
Upcoming Thursday, on 11 October 2018, Samsung is organizing an ‘A Galaxy Event’. You can assume that a new Galaxy A smartphone will be presented during this event. Only one sentence was mentioned on the teaser; ‘4x fun’. This probably refers to the quadruple camera.
The Galaxy A9 will probably be the first Samsung smartphone with four cameras on the back. Probably a 24-megapixel camera with a regular f / 1.7 lens, an 8-megapixel camera with f / 2.4 wide angle lens (120˚ FOV), a 10-megapixel camera with f / 2.4 telephoto lens and a 5-megapixel camera with f / 2.2 depth lens.
In addition to optical image stabilization, it is also possible to zoom in 2x optically. In addition, the depth sensor ensures that you can make beautiful Live Focus Recordings. Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy A9 seems to have a 24-megapixel selfie camera, this sensor is manufactured by Sony.
More cameras also mean that the camera module generates more heat, this can negatively affect image quality. Last week we have published a patent from Samsung, which states that smartphone cameras are provided with heat dissipation, in order to combat these side effects.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 is supposedly equipped with a 6.3-inch Full HD + display. The fingerprint scanner appears to be on the back again, in contrast to the recently introduced Galaxy A7. The 3.720 mAh battery supports Quick Charge 2.0 technology.
