Samsung’s launch event Unpacked 2020 concluded earlier this week, and the event introduced a hoard of new devices and gadgets from the company.
Some of the new devices introduced include the Galaxy Note 20 series smartphones, Galaxy Z Fold 2 folding screen, Galaxy Watch 3 smartwatches, and Galaxy Tab S7 series, and 5G tablets.
Although the tech giant introduced a range of new tablets and notebooks, this would not be the end of new products from Samsung this year. Apparently, Samsung will also launch a series of the new tablet and notebook products in late October, including a Galaxy Book Flex 5G “2-in-1” convertible.
Back in 2019 in October, Samsung launched the Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book Ion. Taking the Galaxy Book series further, in January the company had introduced the Galaxy Book Flex Alpha. The Flex Alpha features an Intel processor, QLED screens, and offers a long battery life under a thin and light frame. This is not all. There have been rumors that Samsung may soon release a new 5G convertible.
While the Unpacked 2020 event was going on, on its second day Samsung submitted a trademark application for “Samsung Book Flex 5G” to the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Abril Abogado was responsible for this trademark, and this Madrid-based company was also responsible for the registration application for all Galaxy A series of devices.
There are some doubts regarding the name of the product, especially around the word ‘Galaxy” but it is hoped that the new device would still be sporting the Galaxy Book Flex 5G name. Moreover, since the new tablet would come from the Galaxy Book Flex series, it may come with an S-Pen stylus with a latency as low as 9 ms. Samsung may also introduce the new Galaxy Book Ion series in October alongside the Flex 5G.
