Finally, Samsung’s new flagship devices Galaxy s7 and Galaxy s7 edge, are arriving in India with a launch event in New Delhi tomorrow, i.e., March 8, according to a report by the Times of India. The media event is expected to start at 12 pm IST.
Samsung has already invited the media with a Caption writing – “Witness The Next Galaxy Revolution as it unveils its new sensation! #Galaxy s7 #RethinkWhatAPhoneCanDo”.
With the arrival of these devices, Samsung plans to invest about Rs.100 crores in promoting and marketing to give tough competition to arch-rival Apple.
India is one of the most important markets for the South Korean telecom giant – the company is also planning to cut prices of older models, which are expected to be priced to match the iPhone 6S model.
Earlier last month we reported Samsung’s plan to bring three color variants and detailed specifications. Though Samsung has not officially confirmed the price of the devices, the report suggests that Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are said to be priced between Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 60,000 at the launch and will hit the stores from the third week of March.
Samsung last month unveiled the devices at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona – The Galaxy S7 edge features 5.5” QHD always ON display AMOLED technology, whereas the standard S7 offers 5.1’’ panel.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 will be powered by a non-removable 3000mAh battery, and that to be 3600mAh for the S7 Galaxy edge, which is compatible with wireless charging. The devices come with Exynos 8890 Octa chipset and 32GB internal storage with an expansion of microSD slots.
