An announcement was made by Samsung’s chief Koh Dong-Jin that the company will not unveil, Galaxy S8 its next flagship smartphone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month.
This decision was made after the investigation of the Galaxy Note 7 which contains multiple faults and caused the phone to be recalled twice and then discontinued altogether in late 2016. Samsung also instigated multiple incidents in which Note 7 devices caught fire due to its phone battery.
Samsung used MWC in the past to lift their most important devices of the year, which is the world’s largest trade show for mobile phones.
As part of the damage control process and to win consumer trust the South Korean company decided not to launch Galaxy S8 at Mobile World Congress this year. According to the report, there may be a possibility that the phone will be delayed to April.
It may be due to new safety and quality assurance procedures that the company is going to introduce followed by its investigation into the Note 7 recall have impacted production and sale time. Now Samsung is being more cautious about its products and its safety grounds. Somehow, Samsung fans will need to wait a little longer to see what good news from the company has stored for them in 2017.
