The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was the first terminal of Samsung to achieve two “objectives”. One, it became the first smartphone of the company to exceed thousand dollars in starting price, and second, it was the first terminal also of the Korean company to have a double camera that seems to continue to grow in the next generation.
Speaking of cameras, we can say that the best camera sensors are of Sony and Samsung. They are usually the two firms that do the best work in the hardware, but the problem is that Sony has worse postprocessing of the image and therefore, many times, it stays behind in the comparisons while Samsung does a very good job in that aspect.
We commented on the hardware of each camera because there are times when you can not get certain features only with postprocessing and software, such as Sony’s ultra-slow camera on the Xperia XZ1, which is capable of recording at 960 fps, and it seems Samsung would also bet for the same function in 2018.
The Dual camera of the Galaxy S9 will have a different system from Sony
Today we have had some reports about Samsung’s new terminal as it seems that the new Galaxy will stand out for its camera reaching another level. They will bet again on a two-camera system that will be able to record at 1000 fps which means that it would have the biggest super slow camera on the market.
It has been a while since an Exynos dual camera system was shown for its processors, and it seems to be the right one for this new generation. Besides, this terminal would arrive with a scanner and improved facial recognition, similar to the FaceID and an Exynos 9810 processor for the International market. A top of the range in every rule.
Price
It seems that it would follow the path of Note 8 and exceed one thousand dollars. According to certain leaks, this new camera system would cost up to triple the current one used by Samsung which means that the price of the Galaxy S9+ could easily increase more than 100 dollars. We will have to wait for the MWC in Barcelona to confirm this news.
