Today at a press meet on Manhattan, the Chinese Electronics manufacturer announced the upcoming launch of the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 tablet. The Tab S4 is supposed to deliver “tablet mobility and PC power.” The Tab S4, soon to be available in the colors black and grey, will begin shipping from August 10, as pre-orders start off today itself.

The tablet has a 10.5-inch (2560×1600) Super AMOLED display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, and features 13-megapixel rear as well as front cameras. Built with much slimmer bezels than Samsung’s previous tablets, which indicate the lack of a home button, the Tab also comes with options for iris scanning and face-recognition, besides the traditional passcode security model. On the body, you will find a USB-C port, a MicroSD slot, a headphone jack, and a pin-connector for the keyboard.

Samsung’s DeX built into the tablet’s software lets the user use the tablet like a desktop PC, which can be used with any Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, or the separately sold Samsung keyboard.

Galaxy Tab S4The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is run by a last-gen Snapdragon 835 processor and uses Android 8.1 Oreo. The Tab’s 7,300mAh battery lending a 16-hour average battery life is noteworthy and the fact that it can “support up to 20 windows open simultaneously.”

It comes with 4GB of RAM, along with 64GB and 256GB of internal storage, expandable upto 400GB with a microSD card. The box also includes an S Pen, which serves multiple purposes, like using the Screen off memo to take quick notes of fleeting ideas.

You can now experience the feel of an auto rotate stereo output, with Quad Speakers tuned by AKG, paired with Dolby Atmos for 3D surround, in order to bring the images to life.

You can also control the far-field microphones in the device, with the help of simple commands through Google Assistant, and can even control your home through the SmartThings app. Bixby can help you with regulating home appliances, which is expected to have a Bixby Voice upgrade in 2019.

Although the Tab has no major Android competitors as of yet, it will be going head to head with the revamped Apple iPad Pro, and a few Chrome OS tablets with a more affordable price range.
