Samsung was since working on high-end tablets, which was anticipated to take a significant leap forward, as model numbers SM-T860 and SM-T865 surface. These might belong to the yet-to-be-unveiled Galaxy Tab S5, which is now purported to be leaked.
The SM-T865 variant has now surfaced on Geekbench revealing the upcoming high-end tablet from Samsung. The model name as shared on Geekbench is SM-T865 coinciding with its predecessor the Galaxy Tab S4 that was launched last year.
The Tab S4 comes with a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 2560×1600 resolutions. It offers one of the best tablet hardware for Android, as it features a vibrant 10.5-inch Super AMOLED panel, a Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 7,300mAh battery. It comes in both 64GB and 128GB versions, which are available in black and grey.
While the latest listing of Tab S5 reveal it will run on the 7nm Snapdragon 855 SoC; which is compacted with an Octa-core CPU and the Adreno 640 GPU. For memory, it will have 6GB of RAM, but more variants with high RAM capacity are expected. The Galaxy Tab S5 will run on the current generation Android 9 Pie OS, which may be skinned with Samsung’s latest OneUI.
This would mirror last year’s schedule that saw the next Note arrive more or less together with the next Tab S. After all, although Samsung has launched several affordable tablets this year, a truly high-end slate is still missing from the 2019 portfolio. Hope it would make its global debut at IFA 2019 in Berlin.
