Samsung, the renowned Korean smartphone manufacturer, has once again unveiled a tablet designed to keep your spending habits in check rather than encouraging splurging. Continuing its tradition, the company introduced the much-anticipated Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) today, a testament to the rapid pace of technological evolution we’ve witnessed since 2020. Surprisingly, this device will hit the shelves as soon as March 28.
True to expectations, the tablet maintains specifications similar to those of its predecessors. Featuring a 10.4-inch display with S Pen support, it comes in two storage variants: 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage or 4GB of RAM with 128GB of storage, expandable up to 1TB. As expected, a microSD card slot is provided for users to augment storage for media files. On the photography front, the device boasts an 8MP rear camera alongside a 5MP front-facing camera. While it may not be the ideal tool for capturing videos during a hike through murky mountains, it still serves its purpose.
The only discernible difference lies in the processor, ambiguously labeled by Samsung as an “octa-core” chip clocked at 2.4GHz, likely surpassing the Snapdragon chip in the 2022 model. Identified as the Exynos 1280, the processor’s exact specifications remain undisclosed, perhaps indicating a premature reveal by Samsung. Available in Oxford Gray, Chiffon Pink, or Mint, the device retains its predecessors’ battery capacity of 7,040mAh (typical) and charging capabilities. Notably, the S Pen remains an integral component of the package. Running on the latest One UI 6.1, some advanced Samsung AI features may not be fully accessible due to the processor’s limitations.
