Samsung is taking a step towards better marketing of SUHD tvs by offering it HDR Plus firmware update in sync with Quantum Dot Display. According to Samsung, this updated trait will exaggerate High Dynamic Range quality to its highest picture quality capacity even if the content source isn’t in HDR format.
It has the technology to make the brighter areas appear more dazzling. This expands the range of the contrast ratio and empowers the TV to display a new complexion.
According to the Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung, Mr. Jong-hee Han, “The HDR+ function offers an exceptional HDR viewing experience to all 2016 SUHD and UHD TVs consumers”. Furthermore, he added, “We’re thrilled to share this latest advancement with our consumers to access directly on their 2016 SUHD TVs. Samsung is bringing the highest form of picture quality right to their living rooms.”
The elevation in Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) allows the seer to watch all the contents in the highest picture quality possible.
HDR+ enhancements are able to show the previously hidden images from native HDR by supplementing more brightness to it. Moreover, it frame-up the details of the images in a very better way.
Using “Picture – Special viewing” mode options, the user can alter the HDR effects by calibrating brightness, gradation & contrast. Samsung says it will be available for the HDR-compatible 2016 UHD TVs models by September this year.
