Today, the South Korean smartphone giant Samsung has officially announced the release of a new Samsung Internet 17.0 equipped with user-centric privacy and security features. The new updated version is now available for download on the Google Play and Galaxy Store.
The updated browser featured smart anti-tracking and HTTPS priority access, with new web authentication methods.
The new Samsung Internet 17.0 has improved the entire user experience, with drag-and-drop tabs and more language translation options to satisfy a wide range of user needs.
Phonetic matching allows users to search for specific terms based on how they sound, and translation capabilities have been expanded to include five new languages, bringing the total number of languages to 26.
The AI-powered smart anti-tracking feature is now available on the Samsung Internet 17.0, which will aid in the blocking of third-party attempts to track users’ personal information, and users will be enabled to default to a safer HTTPS option when typing a URL while on the browser.
In addition, the updated browser furnishes a detailed insight into how Samsung’s browser safeguards their online experience. Also, the Quick Access tab therein renders a visual picture of a user’s privacy dashboard. This provides a full record of weekly activities as well as privacy settings that can be customized to meet the needs of users.
As an alternative to SMS or App-based two-factor authentication, Samsung Internet 17.0 allows users to employ external security or on-device security keys.
Another exciting feature herein is the ability to drag and drop tabs into custom tab groups, which improves the overall user experience. This facilitates and speeds up navigation and organization.
Therefore, Samsung Internet 17.0 will boost search results across bookmarks, history, and saved pages. The browser can perform word-based matching queries to identify phrases or sentences from a database based on bookmarks and saved pages, and it can recognize frequent user typos.
Speaking on the latest browser, Heejin Chung, Head of Web R&D Group at Mobile eXperience Business, Samsung Electronics, said: “With each new generation of Samsung Internet, we have committed to engineering a superior browsing experience that never compromises on privacy or security.”
“Samsung Internet 17.0 is the result of years of research that has allowed us to put our most powerful and protected browsing experience yet in the hands of any Galaxy user. He added.
