On Wednesday, Samsung unveiled two new Galaxy J series smartphones dubbed Galaxy J7 Max and Galaxy J7 Pro. These are the J series’ first smartphones included with the digital payment app and Samsung Pay as add-ons. The other exciting feature is the social camera that allows immediate sharing of photos and videos from the camera window itself.
Sumit Walia, Director of Mobile Business, Samsung India at the launch said, “Considering the increasing market demand in the mid-segment, we have launched two new models, Galaxy J7 Max, and Galaxy J7 Pro. The superior specifications along with disruptive innovations of Samsung Pay and Social Camera on these devices will further consolidate our leadership position.”
The J7 Pro completely supports Samsung Pay, whereas the J7 Max uses a toned version of the service referred to as Samsung Pay Mini that allows users to pay with wallets such as Paytm via UPI.
Specifications of Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro:
The smartphone consists of a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display, combined with an Exynos 7870 SoC, 3GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage, and storage can be expanded with the help of a microSD card. The smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and a back camera with f1.7 aperture. Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and is fueled with a 3600mAh battery.
Specifications of Samsung Galaxy J7 Max:
The J7 Max comes with a 5.7-inch full HD TFT screen, but it does not consist of an AMOLED panel which is usually present in other Samsung smartphones. This smartphone includes the Smart Glow feature that was present in Galaxy J2 (2016), which blinks whenever a notification arrives.
The J7 Max consists of a MediaTek P20 chipset combined with an octa-core CPU, along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The storage is expandable via a microSD card. The J7 Max features the same 13MP rear and front cameras similar to J7 Pro. It also runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and is fueled with a battery of 3300mAh.
The connectivity options that are available on both phones are 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The J7 Pro supports a USB Type-C port, and it’s an IP54-certified smartphone with splash-resistant capabilities.
Both the smartphones will be available in Black and Gold colors. The J7 Max is priced at Rs 17,900, whereas the J7 Pro is priced at Rs 20,900. The Galaxy J7 Max will be available in retail stores from June 20, 2017, whereas the Galaxy J7 Pro will be made available from mid-July onwards.
