According to South Korean ETNews reports, the Seoul-based smartphone giant will end the most popular J line flagship to expand other lesser-known series like the A series or M series. It is evident that Samsung is certainly reconsidering its non-flagship mobile strategy, which is a step towards it.

The company is planning to revive the ‘M’ series, which it had abandoned after around 2012 and rumors also hold that the ‘A’ series will be further expanded. The Galaxy M name will be attached to handsets that are to succeed the Galaxy ON models. All of the new changes are expected to go into effect in less than a year.

This rumor of the A series gulping in the most popular J series strengthens the report that Samsung is probably experimenting with a new Snapdragon 845-powered device that may be launched among the middle range of products. The company also has plans to equip the same line of products with inbuilt fingerprint display which is a lot to say because it hasn’t yet made to the high-range phones.

However, the company has waved off any rumor about the very idea of a mid-range product and it’s a hushed notion that Samsung is planning on doing away with entry-level smartphones completely. We are guessing because the company finds it incredibly difficult to compete with the Chinese smartphone companies.

The new smartphone under the banner of Samsung will be launched in an event on October 11 from under the A series. The upcoming device is expected to feature a quadruple-camera setup and the name is probably to be Samsung A9 Star Pro. New devices under M series will also be displayed in the very event.

Samsung is trying to promote mid-range smartphones by giving up on the pricey J series. However, the phones from A series are packed with features which are pretty expensive so there is a chance of a price hike in the A-line too. It is to be seen whether such strategies are enough to combat the massive spread of Xiaomi phones in India and China.
