Samsung was supposed to showcase its true wireless TV at the CES 2020 but due to some issues, they could not. But the president of Samsung Optical Display Division, Han Jong-hee revealed some specifications about the wireless TV.
He mentioned that Samsung’s wireless TV is truly wireless as there are no conventional video input cable or even a power cable. As at the venue of the exhibition, necessary ports were not available, Samsung decided not to showcase the TV at the CES 2020.
This Samsung wireless TV without power cable is build based on the principle of electromagnetic induction and it requires that there should not be any kind of shielding in the sensing range. One of the main problems that Samsung has to overcome pertaining to the functioning of the TV is that of distance. As soon as they fix this problem, the wireless TV may go into mass production and we may get a chance to see it at the next year’s CES.
It should be mentioned that at the CES 2010, Haier actually showcased a wireless TV and made possible the wireless transmission of 1080p signals through WHDI wireless video transmission technology. However, as the wireless TV was ahead of its time at the moment, and it’s the price too was relatively higher, it remained as a concept TV. The Haier wireless TV did not make it to mass production.
Wireless gadgets have always been a favorite among the mass, and not only due to the ease of usability. Consequently, there have been various gadgets made that are wireless. The latest popular one among the plethora of gadgets has to be wireless headphones. On the other hand, we also have wireless charging in the making.
Keeping the popularity in mind, it is only feasible that the demand for the wireless TV would also grow, and it is up to the developers at Samsung to deliver a wireless TV that would be one of its kind.
