Yesterday, Samsung introduced “The Wall,” the first-ever consumer Samsung modular MicroLED TV in the world. At the First Look of CES 2018, the company exhibited the 146-inch TV and its newest display technology innovations.

The First Look 2018 was attended by over 300 global media and influencers. Samsung’s Jonghee Han and Dave Das have discussed their company’s futuristic visions – with one of the key topics being how TV displays deliver brilliant visuals and evolve seamlessly into people’s lives. Han is the Visual Display Business President, and Das is the Senior VP of Consumer Electronics Samsung, America.

The brand’s new TV does not just deliver most impressive visuals and provides seamless overall experiences. It has the ability to transform into various sizes and offers, amazing brightness, color volume, color gamut, and black levels.

This further hints at Samsung’s visionary efforts in consumer offerings presented via the modular MicroLED TV. The Wall of Samsung is not restricted to resolution or form either, being a ‘self-emitting’ TV having micrometer scale LEDs that are way smaller than present LEDs. Due to their self-emitting ability, they can ‘serve their own source of light.’

Furthermore, viewers don’t need backlight or color filters to enjoy the ultra-offerings of the MicroLED technology. The screen is supremed with durability, effectiveness, luminous efficiency, and low power consumption, which set the bar higher for future screen technology. Additionally, viewers can customize sizes and shapes and can even find pleasure in the adaptive abilities of the TV for other purposes like a wall-size display creation that suits multiple spaces.

In the First Look, Samsung as well came up featuring the first QLED TV with 8K AI technology. It will be globally launched in the second half of this year, beginning with Korean and American markets. Employing a proprietary algorithm for resolution adjustment, it consistently improves image quality and can ‘easily transform’ any content from any source into 8K high-resolution!

The 8K solution packs new features include: detail enhancement for upgrading standard definition content, noise reduction, and edge restoration function for screen objects. The most highlighting feature of all is its capability in automatic sound adjustment as per respective contents.

Samsung also showcased the 2018 Smart TV with upgrades on Bixby, SmartThings, and Universal Guide. The advancements include easier sharing and connectivity, simpler controls for the television, and syncing with other devices. This year will further see the launch of Universal Guide, which can readily recommend TV programs as per user preference.
