Samsung announced that it has started rolling out an update of Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the Galaxy S6 edge and the Galaxy S6 edge Plus. Starting from 15 February, the update will be available for these two devices and “other Galaxy devices will soon follow.”
The South Korean tech giant, in a blog post, says, “with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, Samsung provides the enhanced edge screen and new edge screen features, which are the unique user interface of the beautifully curved edge screen to the next level, making it faster and more convenient than ever.”
As part of this most recent update, after four months of its release, users will experience an enhanced edge screen, and new the edged screen features an increased panel from 260 pixels to 550 pixels.
You will be able to perform daily tasks and get the information you need, all with a simple swipe and tap. The Tasks edge – lets you shoot quick messages, call contacts with just one tap and configure tools like a compass or flashlight for easy access.
As the panel size has been doubled with the news update Galaxy S6 and S6 edge Plus, users will get more space – which means more content to be displayed.
Earlier uses could see only five apps, but with the expanded space of the upgraded edge panel, you can now add ten apps. In addition to single apps, you can add entire folders for maximum smartphone organization.
The updated version also comes with enhanced battery performance. Now you need not worry about battery back-up – Marshmallow 6.0 comes with a new feature, Doze; it works like when your device is at rest; this Doze automatically puts it into a sleep mode.
