Samsung announced the release of two new premium soundbar models which include HW-Q950T and HW-Q900T, thereby wrapping up the 2020 Q-series soundbar line-up.
The HW-Q950T will host the maximum number of channels for the home-theatre systems in a single sounder with its 9.1.4-channel. The model features two wireless rear up-firing speakers along with two wide channel speakers. The inclusion of the two-channel speakers to the previous 7.1.4-channel system, it will deliver an immersive sound experience.
Both the models will come equipped with Dolby Atmos, along with DTS:X from DTS for multi-dimensional audio technology. Samsung has gone out of its way and added an eARC support which is very similar to the Dolby TrueHD.
Furthermore, the soundbars could be hooked up to Samsung’s 2020 QLED TVs, using the Q-symphony system inherent in the Samsung QLED TVs.
Additional features
As can be inferred from above, the soundbars contain improvements in terms of specs; this is also true for its design as well. The new Samsung soundbar models HW-Q950T and HW-Q900T come with a shortened height of 69.5mm. Its size makes it a perfect match for TVs. Furthermore, Samsung mentions the soundbars are wrapped in Kvadrat textiles.
“In collaboration with Audio Lab in the US, we have been able to develop multi-dimensional surround sound that can be more accessible at home, which was previously only possible with a separate home-theatre system,” said Seong Cho, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Product Marketing of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.
“In addition to improving sound quality, we also focused on fine-tuning the soundbar’s design aesthetic by using eco-friendly textiles, made by Danish premium brand Kvadrat.”
Both the models support the SmartThings App and Alexa voice service through which the users can voice-activate various music streaming apps such as Amazon Music, Spotify, TuneIn, and iHeart Radio. The Tap Sound feature sends the music from the smartphone directly to the soundbar.
