Samsung to Uncover Galaxy S9, “the Next Big Thing” at MWC Instead of CES 2018

In a clarifying announcement made by its mobile boss, Samsung Electronics states that it is slated to uncover the Galaxy S9 at the Mobile World Congress in February 2018 to occur in Barcelona from February 26 to March 1, quashing all rumors of CES 2018 to unveil it to the world.

The president of Samsung’s mobile product line, DJ Koh, also added at a press conference at CES 2018 in Las Vegas that the trade show will also announce the sales date of its first flagship foldable smartphone of 2018. The company was considering the launch of the Galaxy S9 sometime in 2019 but the South Korean tech giant reported last year that the launch was rather to be planned in 2018. Furthermore, Koh cited UX as the biggest hurdle in commercialization, which was being thoroughly looked into by Samsung Electronics to develop a foolproof solution. If company insiders are to be believed, chances are that the company might kickstart the production of the Galaxy S9 model late this year.

The Bixby 2.0 is scheduled to be launched within this year, and excitingly enough, for its customer base, all Samsung devices are targeted to be compatible with the virtual assistant, powered with AI features in all of its home appliances by 2020.

Many companies have AI competence, but not many have hardware competence. We started a little later [than others] but we are confident in offering the best experience for consumers. –  DJ Koh

Floating news goes around that the highly-anticipated Galaxy S9 is touted to be the foremost smartphone from the company to provide a massive 512GB storage capacity to its users, placing it one notch higher than its smartphone counterparts in the global market. Furthermore, there might be also be more differences in features between the regular S9 and the S9 Plus version.

All Samsung fans would rush to stores next year to grab the attractive Galaxy S9, given that the individual consumer budgets comply.

In sync with the tagline of Samsung Galaxy, the Galaxy S9 shall definitely prove to be “the next big thing”.
