Samsung today announced the world’s thinnest tablet Galaxy Tab S2 which is just 5.6mm thick and will be available in two sizes- with 9.7 and 8-inch screen. Earlier Apple’s iPad Air 2 was crowned with the accolade – Galaxy Tab S2 comes 0.6mm less than iPad Air 2.
The newly announced flagship tablets are just 5.6mm thin and weigh only 389g (9.7 -inch) and 265g (8.0 -inch) and come with AMOLED Display for the users who prefer to read digital content, including e-books, magazines, webpages, and newsfeeds. The Galaxy Tab S2 is stylishly designed with the thinnest and lightest metal frame gives a powerful performance and enhanced usability- empowers users with new and improved choices in productivity and multitasking.
JK Shin, CEO and President of IT & Mobile Division at Samsung Electronics commenting on the launch said, “The Galaxy Tab S2 is not only our thinnest and lightest tablet of its size ever, but it also gives users quick, easy access to a wealth of superior viewing and productivity features.”
Two devices come with octa-core processor packed with 3GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal memory which can be extended up to additional 128GB of space through microSD card.
Both the devices run with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop and have an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1-megapixel snapper on the front to snap your best selfie moment. Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 inch tablet powered with 5,870mAh battery and 8-inch version comes with 4,000 mAh battery.
You can also secure and unlock the device with just a touch of the home key with fingerprint technology, while Samsung’s software layer allows multi-tasking and pop-up windows for easy switching between apps. Both the devices run on 64-bit octa-core Samsung Exynos 7420 processor along with 3GB RAM packed with 32GB or 64GB internal memory which can be extended up to 128 GB through a microSD card.
The Korean mobile phone giant announced that the device will be available globally from this August though they have not confirmed the price yet. Here are the product specifications of Galaxy S2 of two variants.
