SanDisk has officially launched the 4TB version of its most popular SanDisk Extreme Ultra-fast Mobile Solid State Drive Pro. The new SSD card has been launched in China at the price of 6,999 yuan.
Reports claim that the 4TB version of the SSD card comes with NVMe high-speed technology. Moreover, it also uses a USB-C interface and reads and writes at a speed of up to 2000MBPS.
One of the things that made this drive extremely popular was that it comes with a portable body that could fit inside a pocket. Moreover, the carabiner buckle makes it easier for anyone to hang the drive. All of these come coupled with the drive being dustproof, waterproof, and drop-proof.
The drive is wrapped inside a silicone sheath and can survive a drop from 6.5 feet. However, the Extreme Ultra-fast Mobile Solid State Drive Pro does lack a port cover. A few users have commented how both Windows and macOS version of SanDisk Security software comes with the drive. The company also offers a warranty of 5 years.
On questions of compatibility, SanDisk had told users, “The list of pre-built computers with USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 support is still extremely limited. We recommend the Extreme Pro V2 to those early adopters who want to build or upgrade a PC with the latest tech. For motherboards, we are brand-agnostic. AMD TRX40 platforms from various manufacturers are likely to have 20Gbps USB. Customers should look for 20Gbps USB or an ASMedia ASM3242 chip. If they are using an Intel board, or another AMD platform, add-in cards are pretty easy to find on Amazon or Newegg.”
Previously, the drive came in two variants: 1TB and 2TB. The 4TB variant is priced at 6,999 yuan, and the drive is now available for booking. SanDisk has confirmed that the Extreme Ultra-fast Mobile Solid State Drive Pro 4TB drive will launch on April 26.
