As we all know, the American foundational technologies, Qualcomm, have officially listed the schedule of the next important conference. This year’s Snapdragon Technology Summit is scheduled to be held from November 14th to 17th, 2022.
However, as we just discovered, the firm has revealed today that the first batch of new smartphones equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is planned to be released after the Snapdragon Summit.
According to the digital blogger @Digital Chat Station today, the first batch of mobile phones equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is planned to be released after Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit. A preliminary date for it is the second part of November, and the blogger reported that the initial manufacturers’ progress is going well.
Smartphones equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
Meanwhile, according to earlier reports, the Xiaomi Mi 13 series, Redmi K60 series, and Vivo X90 series are all expected to be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
However, it should be remembered that on July 9 of this year, renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that the Samsung Galaxy S23 series will only be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 engine due to the lack of competitiveness of Samsung’s own Exynos 2300 chipset. Similarly, @ibing, another leaker, reported that several significant manufacturers had started testing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 on the same day and were pleased with the results.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 compared with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1
The new flagship CPU, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, will have an overall energy efficiency improvement of at least 15% over Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. In addition to its novel CPU architecture, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is projected to be paired with Qualcomm’s most recent Snapdragon X70 5G modem, enabling it to reach new peak download speeds while using up to 60% less power.
