Following the rumors raised by PlayStation itself, Sony’s Ballistic Moon Studio acquisition has reportedly been completed.

A recent PlayStation job posting for a Senior Dialogue Designer disclosed that the Ballistic Moon studio is now working on a huge new AAA game project. The job description specified that the candidate will work collaboratively with many first-party Sony studios, including Ballistic Moon.

Ballistic Moon studio headquartered in the UK is believed to be working on a PS5 title. It is possible that Sony has acquired this firm. The financial services company Pitchbook does have a page that discloses the acquisition and fuels the rumor fire even more.

The parent company of the developer, according to the Ballistic Moon description on Pitchbook, is Sony. Recent information also indicates that the company’s current status is Acquired.  Hence, it appears that Sony may have already acquired Ballistic Moon studio but has not yet disclosed this information yet.

Sony has been expanded to include firms like Bungie, Bluepoint Games, and a few more. Besides that, Sony will keep looking for new businesses to acquire, but it now appears that a PlayStation Ballistic Moon Studio acquisition could have already happened.

The acquisition of other studios by gaming and tech giant companies like Sony and Microsoft in order to create more games for their own systems is nothing new, so this is not all that surprising. The acquisition hasn’t been officially confirmed by Sony or Ballistic Moon Studio, though.

It is understandable that Sony would want to hold off on making any prospective acquisition public until the existing conflicts between Sony and Microsoft over the Activision Blizzard merger have been settled. If Sony’s Ballistic Moon Studio acquisition is legitimate, we could hear about it soon, unless they don’t have other plans in mind. We’ll have to wait and see if Sony announces this acquisition soon or if it turns out to be wrong.
