Sony appears to be forming a new game development team in collaboration with PlayStation Studios Visual Arts and Naughty Dog to work on an unannounced AAA game.
The information has been discovered in a new job posting at PlayStation Global for a Senior Producer. According to PlayStation’s job posting (spotted by VGC), Sony is creating a new internal development team to collaborate with The Last of Us developers on an unnamed AAA video game.
Further information on the job listing states, ” This high visibility project is being developed in collaboration with Naughty Dog. Though currently unannounced, we have a clear vision and plan to release.” In order to assist the team to attain its full potential, Sony is looking for a “committed, focused, and self-motivated producer with a broad demonstrated expertise and track record of building processes.”
Sony doesn’t state that the new project will be a AAA development specifically, it does ask that the applicant be “proficient in all aspects of AAA game development and administration” and have previously launched at least two AAA games. Although there is no official word about the next title, if it comes out to be a AAA game, a new Uncharted game seems to be the most plausible possibility.
PSS Visual Arts are most recognized for its participation in multiple The Last of Us games in the areas of animations, motion graphics, design, and artwork.
On the other hand, as the company behind the hugely popular Uncharted and The Last of Us franchises, Naughty Dog has become one of the well-known developers. Given the studio’s strong reputation, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that a lot of players are eagerly awaiting whatever the developer has planned for the future.
And though the team working on the project will include the Uncharted and The Last of Us developers, it is entirely unclear what contribution Naughty Dog will have.
