Marvel Wolverine is currently under development by Insomniac Games for PlayStation 5. The game is a collaboration project between Marvel Games and PlayStation. The announcement was made at the Sony PS5 game launch, which concluded on September 10, 2021.
Insomnia Group is Sony’s first-party game studio. At the Sony PS5 game launch, both parties announced the trailer for the game “Marvel Wolverine,” which, as per the announcement, will be available exclusively on the PS5 platform.
The adamantium-clawed mutant, the beloved character from the X-Men series, will lead the game, which is supposed to be a standalone one. The game is directed by Brian Horton, the creative director of the game, and Cameron Christian, the Game Director. Notably, Cameron Christian recently led the creative efforts on Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Reports show that the standalone PS5 game is currently in the early stages of development. The trailer of the game gives nothing away, in the sense that fans do not have any idea what they will be dealing with yet. The trailer does not contain any ‘game content, and the public video is not the actual picture of the game.
Additionally, the end of the video does not indicate when the game might get launched. It only means a long way to go before the game officially launches on the PS5 platform. However, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 which is supposed to come out in 2023 has already been confirmed.
At the same event, Sony also announced the Spider-Man 2 for the first time. Sony also launched a brief trailer for the same, and in the trailer, we see Peter Parker and Miles Morales and a guest appearance made by Venom.
In an official blog, PlayStation mentions, “While pushing the capabilities of the console will be very exciting, we’re equally pumped to craft all-new stories for Peter and Miles in this sequel. Just as in our previous Spider-Man games, we not only want to tell a great Super Hero story, but also deliver a compelling human story, one full of heart and humor that dives deep into the people behind the mask.”
