According to a story published today, Microsoft provided some documents in response to the British CMA’s investigation of the Activision Blizzard merger to support the transaction’s logic and demonstrate why it won’t significantly affect Sony’s PlayStation platform.
Although Sony has previously stated that the Marvel Wolverine game is still in the early phases of development, Microsoft asserts that Sony hopes to release the title in 2023. It has been informed that “Marvel Wolverine” was created by Insomniac Games and was officially unveiled with “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” during the PlayStation Showcase event in September 2021.
Insomniac has frequently stated that Wolverine is still in the early phases of development and that Spider-Man would arrive on the PS5 in 2023. The studio has also never specified an approximate release date for Wolverine.
According to a file Sony made with the CMA, several first and third-party exclusives, including “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,” “Horizon,” “Final Fantasy 16,” “Forspoken,” and “Marvel,” will be released by Sony in 2023. Wolverine.”
Meanwhile, the release time of “Marvel Wolverine” has not been officially announced, so this date may only be a temporary plan, and it may be adjusted in the future, but it is expected to be next year.
