The Sony Walkman is back. Sony has released a 40th anniversary Walkman a “special cassette tape user interface and screensaver,” and comes with Wi-Fi and Android for music streaming. Sony released the Walkman 40th Anniversary Edition of the new NW-ZX500 series and NW-A100 series.
The new product adopts the Android9.0 operating system, which supports the transmission and download of streaming media. It can realize the online selection of songs and listen to songs without using a computer, which makes listening more convenient.
First launched in 1979, the Sony TPS-L2 Walkman was the first truly portable personal cassette player that has changed the way we listen to music. Sony has since released various iterations of its Walkman, but it’s gone the extra mile with this special 40th-anniversary edition.
The new Walkman uses the design and technology of the high-end alcohol sound player to further improve the sound quality. Consumers can also freely download personalized applications such as QQ Music, Netease Cloud Music, and Shrimp Music. It comes with up to 26 hours of battery life, which is more than most smartphones can provide. And it is built for the future, with a USB-C port for connections. Its cost and the release date is yet to be known.
