With the Mobile World Congress just around the corner, Sony is all set to launch a new smartphone in the Xperia series. A tweet accidentally revealed that Sony plans to launch a new device sometime this February. It was generally thought that Sony would release the new Xperia XZ2 later this year, but a tweet spotted by a Reddit user gave rise to the XZ2 launch. The tweet confirming that a new Xperia is “coming soon” was posted by Three Ireland and later deleted and covered up as being a mistake. However, since the Japanese technology giant, Sony, was already thinking about launching the new Xperia XZ2, it is speculated that the Mobile World Congress is the best place to do that.
The new Sony Xperia XZ2 features a 5.5” (almost 13.97 cm) display with a screen resolution of 1080×2160 pixels. It will run on the latest Android operating system i.e. Android v8.0 Oreo, powered by an Octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The onboard storage is 64 GB, but the internal storage capacity can expand to 256 GB. The battery is a non-replaceable Li-polymer battery with 3250 mAh power capacity. It comes with a dual selfie camera with unique features which will help the users to take better quality images even in low light. The rear camera is 20 megapixels.
One of the unique features of this smartphone is that it comes with Adreno 540 GPU, which helps the phone accommodate better graphics for gaming purposes. Some of the other features include a light sensor, proximity sensor and Accelerometer. The whole body is waterproof and dust resistant. The phone will cost around INR 26,000 Rupees.
