SpaceX Unveils All 4 Humans in World’s First All-civillian Human Spaceflight to Orbit

SpaceX may have just revealed its Inspiration4 crew members as it finally prepares to launch the world’s first all-civilian human spaceflight to orbit. 

The launch which has been tagged ‘the Inspiration4 mission’, is scheduled to last for about 5 hours after opening at 8:02 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, September 15.

Taking to their official Twitter page, SpaceX unveiled the crew members that will be aboard the Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft.

As confirmed from its official website, SpaceX says the crew of the Inspiration4 mission will be made up of;

1. Jared Isaacman, the founder and CEO of Shift4 Payments is also an adventurer and an experienced pilot. Jared will be in command of the mission.

2. Hayley Arceneaux, presently a physician assistant at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Hayley will be the medical officer during this mission. 

3. Chris Sembroski will be the mission specialist. He is an air force veteran and also an aerospace data engineer. 

4. Dr. Sian Proctor, a businessman, geoscientist, and also a well-trained pilot. He’ll be the mission pilot. 

The spaceflight is set to take off from the historic Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Also according to the tech giant, Dragon and all 4 crew members of the Inspiration4 mission are expected to make a return to Earth about three days after liftoff. They are being expected to touch down at any of the very many possible landing areas off of the coast of Florida.

The live webcast of the launch will come up 4 hours before liftoff and SpaceX will be broadcasting.

Mission objectives of Inspiration4

There are some objectives attached to this Inspiration4 mission, one of which is to raise $200m for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It has always been a lifelong ambition of Jared’s to give hope to all kids living with cancer or any other terminal disease. According to reports, the fundraiser is already ongoing and any interested party can visit the hospital for more information.

Another objective of the mission is to study how the human body works in space and conduct scientific researches that will be geared towards advancing human health back here on earth.
