A Starship Troopers-based video game is being developed by the same team that brought us the acclaimed tactical first-person shooter Squad. Offworld Industries has announced Starship Troopers: Extermination, and here’s everything revealed so far about the game, including its early access release, gameplay, and a lot more details.
Starship Troopers Extermination PC early access release year and features announced
Extermination teams up 12 players, divided into four-person squads and assigns them the mission of eliminating as many arachnids as they can as members of the elite Deep Space Vanguard Mobile Infantry. The word “frenetic” used to describe the fighting suggests that the alien threat will continually be hurled at players. The primary goal will probably be to collect components for constructing and defending their base.
In addition, there will be a ping system that players may utilize to inform their teammates about important information like objectives, impending adversaries, and more. Utilizing the materials obtained from the planet’s refineries, the game also lets you construct towers, barriers, ammo stations, and other structures.
Assault, Support, or Defense are the three playable classes that players may choose from when playing as a soldier in the renowned Deep Space Vanguard. As they advance in the permanent class advancement system, new perks and equipment will become available.
Paul Verhoeven’s science fiction movie Starship Troopers, which came out in 1997, became a legendary hit. Because of the movie’s obsessive success, there have been several sequels and video games based on it, including the recent release of Starship Troopers: Terran Command. Players may get access to Terran Command via Steam.
Starship Troopers: Extermination’s teaser trailer was also unveiled on Monday, but doesn’t show a lot of the game in action. The PC early access version of Starship Troopers: Extermination will debut first in 2023. Though the exact release date for the game is yet to be announced.
