A recent survey by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) states that we can’t prevent global warming from aggravating over the next 30 years. It could set off us in fear and trepidation, but we can’t neglect the actuality in real-time.

Climate change activists never failed to provide a path for a sustainable tomorrow. Climate change is an important topic to be discussed among people. Increasing authentic Information related to climate change:

Facebook has invested $1 million in a “new climate grant program to increase authentic information and eradicate misinformation about climate change.” Also, Facebook partnered with an international fact-checking firm to give external support to organizations, working relentlessly to battle misinformation about climate change.

Facebook uses its great network subtlety as they expand the climate change section at the climate Science Center with additional factual data about climate change. The Facebook network is working Meticulously to make sure the facts reach the community to a great extent. 

Elevating Climate voices:

Facebook is launching a video series to spotlight young climate activists on Facebook and Instagram between climate week and COP26.


In 2020, Facebook launched the climate Science Information Center in Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Nigeria, South Africa, and the US. Facebook is taking numerous steps to give reliable information sources to people. Facebook announced its climate misinformation grant program affiliated with the international fact-checking network. The new initiative from Facebook primarily focuses on the organization that is relentlessly working to battle climate misinformation and fund those organizations to keep their heads up.

Facebook investing $1 million in this new initiative, and they built an alliance with Fact-checkers, climate change activists, and experts and organizations who primarily spotlights battling climate change misinformation. Facebook held a conference along with the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication, University of Cambridge, and Monash University. They also added new facts to facts about climate change library of the Climate Science Center as  “Sea levels have risen an average of eight inches globally since 1880.”  

Facebook has planned to highlight creators who are promoting and educating users on Facebook and Instagram. They named the event Climate Week starts on September 20 and ends on September 26. Facebook has also prepped to launch a food sustainability video Sydel Curry-Lee on the Facebook app. It is worth to be mentioned that 3.5 million users in Facebook climate change groups have raised $130 million for environmental factors on Facebook and Instagram.
