The Witcher series is going back to its origins. CD Projekt just provided the initial information on The Witcher game Remake in a new blog post on the game’s official website. The game is allegedly in its early stages, with Fool’s Theory developing it on Unreal Engine 5.
The Witcher game remake is the same title that CD Projekt Red first revealed as Project Canis Majoris, which was once dubbed a “story-driven RPG” rooted in the Witcher universe and created by an as-then-unidentified external studio.
The identity of that developer has piqued the interest of many fans, and Fool’s Theory hadn’t before been suggested as a possibility. Unreal Engine 5 will be used to remake The Witcher, according to the announcement post.
The Witcher game remake will not be released soon
“The Witcher is where it all began for CD PROJEKT RED and for us. It was a major event for us back then because it was the first game we had ever created. Going back to this place and rebuilding the game for the next generation of players to enjoy feels just as large, if not bigger,” says Adam Badowski, CD PROJEKT RED’s Head of Studio.
According to him, Fool’s Theory has a thorough understanding of the original work, are aware of how eagerly players have anticipated the release of The Witcher game remake, and are skilled at creating amazing and ambitious games. He did, however, remark that The Witcher game remake on Unreal Engine 5 will take huge time.
After its initial 2007 release, The Witcher game went on to create two follow-ups, each of which was more expansive than the one before it. And now, CD Projekt is making a comeback to the original game that started it all, even if The Witcher has since grown into a huge multiplatform series.
Although there aren’t many details available right now and probably won’t be for some time, the announcement of The Witcher game Remake is fascinating for fans.
