The Witcher: Monster Slayer will no longer be available, according to CD Projekt. It will be completely shut down next year since it no longer complies with the firm’s new business plan.

Today, decisions to discontinue support for the Witcher: Monster Slayer, along with its exact date has been confirmed by the studio.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer servers will shut down next year

Less than two years after its debut, on July 21, 2021, The Witcher: Monster Slayer will be discontinued since it will no longer be playable as of June 30, 2023, according to a FAQ post that made the announcement. Further, While the creators validated the news on the game’s official Twitter account. The game’s failure to meet the studio’s financial goals was noted as the major reason in a new FAQ article.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer will continue to be accessible for download on the App Store and Google Play Store till January 31st, 2023.  The game will then undergo some significant adjustments starting on February 1st. In the recent FAQ post, the game’s discontinuation is explained in greater depth, along with what players should anticipate. The servers will be completely shut down as mentioned above on 6 June next year.

Reasons for The Witcher: Monster Slayer shut down

When explaining the reasons behind the game’s shut down, CD Projekt referred to their planned projects. The company revealed in October that it will be concentrating on its main market of developing PC and console games, with mobile titles planned to be carried out in partnership with outside studios.

The notice from Spokko Games stated, “Dear Witchers, we must announce that our journey with The Witcher: Monster Slayer is coming to an end. We will be closing down the game on June 30, 2023.” Despite the studio’s claims that it is proud to have impressively portrayed what it was like to be a Witcher in real, the mobile game didn’t perform up to expectations in terms of revenue, and it will consequently be discontinued next year.

Players still have more than six months to play the game, though. It is a free-to-play game that can be accessed via Play Store or App Store.
